Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. This handset features an 8-inch main display and a 200MP main camera. The battery capacity is huge and it comes with a 5,000mAha battery. Smartphone comes with new Galaxy AI tools which includes Gemini Notebook, which is capable of summarising documents and generating contents from the files. It comes with Now Nudge, which is a contextual Galaxy AI feature to proactively prompt actions based on the user activity. The AI features are very good in this smartphone.

The company has also refreshed Galaxy Z Fold8, which brings redesigned display format and adjustable aspect ratios. This helps in improving content consumption while playing video, gaming and reading. This makes the phone very useful for a wide variety of uses.

The weight of this smartphone is just 201 grams, making it the lightest Fold model from Samsung. This phone comes with a 4,800mAh battery which can play 26 hours of video. The Fold8 also introduced the AI-powered editing tool that automatically tracks and reframes a subject in a video, which is a very good feature with this phone.

Samsung has also updated the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with more functionality on its FlexWindow cover display. This helps users in accessing the apps, messages and personalized AI information without opening their handset. This is a good accessibility feature which makes the phone very useful. This phone comes with a 50MP main camera and dual recording mode. The dual recording mode captures both subject and creator together.

Pricing:

The price for Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts from $2,099, Galaxy Z Fold8  costs $1,899, while Galaxy Z Flip8 costs $1,199. All these three models will be available from 7 August.

TM Roh, CEO, president and head of Samsung Electronics’ Device eXperience division said “The question is: if AI is becoming more personal, more proactive, and more multidimensional, what is the optimal device to bring that experience to life? We believe the answer is foldables.”

Wearables Refresh

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite platform powers Samsung’s refreshed wearables portfolio, marking the debut of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9.

These smartwatches introduce advanced AI-driven health capabilities, including an update for sleep apnea detection that the manufacturer notes has been cleared by the FDA. The Galaxy Watch9 is available starting at $379, whereas the price for the Watch Ultra2 begins at $699.

Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight, said Samsung is “doubling down on foldables at exactly the moment the category is about to get its biggest credibility boost with the much-rumoured arrival of a folding iPhone later in the year.”

He further added “could also be the moment that turns foldables from a niche premium category into a mainstream flagship battleground.”

Wood added “Qualcomm is one of the quiet winners from Samsung’s latest launch, securing important design wins across phones, watches and glasses.”
